ベイエリアのトレイル Redwood Shores – Bay Area Trail

サンフランシスコベイエリアの湾沿いは干潟や埋立地となっていて、自然保護区や公園の中に大小様々なトレイルが設けられている。現れる生き物に大きな差はないはずだが、観察や撮影のしやすいポイントを押さえるために地道に攻略したい。

Greater Yellowlegs in a wetland in the Bay Area in summer — オオキアシシギ（Greater Yellowlegs）。長くて黄色い足がよく目立つ。

Killdeer in a wetland in the Bay Area in summer — 変わった模様の大きなチドリ。フタオビチドリ（Killdeer）といい、北米ではよく見られる。それにしても鹿殺しとはどういう名前なのか…

Song Sparrow perched on a fence in the Bay Area in summer — さえずるウタスズメ（Song Sparrow）。ミヤマシトド（White-crowned Sparrow）と並んで、よく見かけるスズメの仲間だ。

Whimbrel in a wetland in the Bay Area in summer — アメリカダイシャクシギ（Long-billed Curlew）は褐色味が強く、どちらかというとホウロクシギに近く見える。区別できる気がしない。

Black Phoebe perched on a fence in the Bay Area in summer — 前回も登場したクロツキヒメハエトリ（Black Phoebe）。嘴の噛み合わせがずれている。

Anna’s Hummingbird perched on a small branch in the Bay Area in summer — アンナハチドリ（Anna’s Hummingbird）のメスかオス未成鳥。家の前でもブンブン飛んでいるが、まだオスのメタリックレッドは綺麗に拝めていない。
