冬のBair Islandで水鳥観察　その２

その１からの続き

最初は鳥が少なく、収穫なしかに思われたが、動かず待っていると好都合なことに向こうから大集団が移動してきた。しかもラッキーなことに日没直前だ。

Large flock of Long-billed Dowitchers flying at sunset at Bair Island — オオハシシギ（Long-billed Dowitcher）を中心に、時々一斉に飛び立つ。混ざっている大きな鳥はハジロオオシギ（Willet）。

Large flock of Long-billed Dowitchers flying at sunset at Bair Island — たいてい、ここで見かけるのは脇の白いオオハシシギだ。でも時々、脇まで模様のあるアメリカオオハシシギ（Short-billed Dowitcher）が混ざっているようだ。

Greater Yellowlegs walking in shallow water at Bair Island — 近くまでやってきたオオキアシシギ（Greater Yellowlegs）。コキアシシギ（Lesser Yellowlegs）との違いは、本種は嘴が頭より長く、わずかに上に反っていること。

やはりBair Islandも時には通いたいなと思った次第。ただ、鳥あるあるで、いない時はほんといないんですよね…。

今回の使用機材：400mm f2.8 (内蔵テレコン併用)
