ベイエリアのトレイル Baylands Nature Preserve – Bay Area Trail

This time, I visited Baylands Nature Preserve in Palo Alto. Combined with the adjacent Mayfield Island, it forms a vast natural area similar to Bair Island. The difference is that Baylands has well-maintained trails with more accessible areas. It’s too large to cover in one visit, so I plan to explore it gradually.

American Coot. It looks very similar to the Eurasian Coot found in Japan but has a red-black spot on its forehead and bill. The sides of the base of its bill are rounded, whereas the Eurasian Coot’s are pointed.

I’ve barely walked a quarter of the accessible areas, but the sun has already set. I’ll save the rest for another time.
