Don Edwards – Coyote Hills その2 / Part 2

Continuing from Part 1.

I left Don Edwards and headed to the neighboring Coyote Hills.

The area is divided into wetlands and hilly terrain.
I spotted a young deer. Its ears are about the size of its face.
This is an adult deer, probably a Mule Deer. It could be a Black-tailed Deer, but I couldn’t see its tail to confirm.
A Northern Harrier soaring with San Francisco Bay in the background.
I managed to get a great vantage point to look down from.
A Great Egret standing in the field.
With a sharp strike, it caught a mouse.
The bill tip was already red in the first shot, so rather than a rare occurrence, mice might actually be a primary food source in this area.
Red-tailed Hawk.
Judging by its light-colored iris and cere, this Red-tailed Hawk appears to be a juvenile. It showed little wariness, suddenly landing on the ground for no apparent reason and displaying playful behavior.
Yellow-rumped Warbler. I could only observe it from a distance.

While the environment isn’t exactly the same, overall, Coyote Hills feels like a much more exciting place.
