Cooper’s Hawk

That day, I discovered an unusual visitor in front of my house.

Distant view of a juvenile Cooper’s Hawk perched on a wooden fence in autumn in the Bay Area
A raptor perched on the wall of the house across the street. I sometimes see it, but this was the first time it came to a spot where I could observe it properly.

It was looking around restlessly. It appeared to be a juvenile Cooper’s Hawk.

Since it’s a residential area where wandering around with a telephoto lens feels inappropriate, I quickly took a photo and withdrew.
