アメリカカケスなど / California Scrub-Jay and more

A continuation from my previous post at Coyote Hills.

Cooper’s Hawk. The one I saw in front of my house the other day was also a juvenile, and this one looks young too, given the vertical streaks on its chest.
California Ground Squirrel. Is it really safe sitting out in such an exposed spot?
American White Pelicans often fly in as well.
A California Scrub-Jay wandering around in the shade. It seemed quite tame, and with some patchy gray feathers, it appeared to be a recently fledged juvenile.
The pinkish base of its bill also suggests it’s a young bird.
This was another individual nearby, with even more gray plumage.
I casually took a photo of the wetlands, but something unexpected appeared in it.
A Song Sparrow, in a place I didn’t expect.
