Lesser Goldfinch perched on grass at Ravenswood Open Space in the Bay Area in spring — 顔にピントが合ってないが、初見だったので掲載。オリーブ色の体色と三列風切の太い白ふち模様から、ヒメキンヒワ（Lesser Goldfinch）のメスか幼鳥と思われる。ただ嘴の付け根の羽毛が全部無いのはなぜ？

California Ground Squirrel at Ravenswood Open Space in the Bay Area in spring — カリフォルニアジリス（California Ground Squirrel）。リスは街中から山の中まで、わりとよく見ることができる。可愛い見た目とは裏腹に、農業では作物や農地に被害を与える害獣として扱われることもある。この個体は縄張り争いで怪我でもしたのか、痛々しい傷が顔についている。
