Devil’s Slide Trail and Le Conte Trail Montara – Bay Area Trail

When I walk trails in the San Francisco Bay Area, I often include the trail name in the title of my observation posts. That might attract people expecting information about the trail itself, but there usually isn’t much of that. Sorry!

I’ll try to include photos of the trail itself from now on, when I remember.

A plant I saw in large numbers near the north entrance of Devil’s Slide Trail. The plant stood about two meters tall and was covered in small pink and purple flowers. It was quite striking. It’s a naturalized species called Pride of Madeira, originally from Madeira Island, Portugal, introduced for ornamental purposes and now wild.
