JVフィッツジェラルド海洋保護区 / JV Fitzgerald Marine Reserve

ハーフムーン・ベイから北へ15分ほど車を走らせて、JVフィッツジェラルド海洋保護区へやってきた。前回に引き続き、アビがいないか見てみたかったのと、アザラシの観察ポイントがあるからだ。

ミミヒメウ（Double-crested Cormorant）

この公園の海岸には、モントレーイトスギ（Monterey Cypress）の群生がある。どちらかというとこちらの方で有名なようだ。この木自体は自生のものではないらしいが、巨大な木が立ち並んでなかなか壮観だ。ポートレートの撮影会をやっているグループもあった。

手羽先をいじくり回しているうちに、崖からポロリと落としてしまった。なんだかバツが悪そうにキョロキョロしてから飛び降りて行った。
