JVフィッツジェラルド海洋保護区 / JV Fitzgerald Marine Reserve

I drove about 15 minutes north from Half Moon Bay to visit the JV Fitzgerald Marine Reserve. Following the previous trip, I wanted to see if I could spot a loon, and there’s also a known seal observation point here.

Despite the strong wind and waves, cormorants and ducks occasionally flew by. Pelagic Cormorant.

Along the coast of this park, there is a grove of Monterey Cypress. This seems to be what the area is best known for. Although these trees are not naturally occurring here, the towering grove is quite impressive. One group was even holding a portrait photography session.
