タカブシギ / Wood Sandpiper
The spring migration season has arrived. Although I love snipe and plovers, I never know where these traveling birds will appear. Moreover, since it is the beginning of the fiscal year and things are a bit hectic, I leave it completely up to luck.
I received information about a Wood Sandpiper, so I set out immediately.
When I arrived at our destination rice field, I immediately spotted two birds. They did not seem too afraid, so I decided to lie down on the ground and wait for them to gradually approach me. Luckily, they came almost to the minimum shooting distance.
Explore the rice paddies with a long beak.
It seems to have found something that looks like a seed. It is a great feat for them to distinguish something underwater, where they cannot see anything, using only the sense of their beaks.
