A large number of birds were gathered in a brackish water pond (probably so).

Sometimes I see ducks and other birds circling around in groups like this, eating something. This time, I thought they were very white, but it turned out to be a group of Black-headed Gulls and Smews. I also saw Northern Shovelers and Tufted Ducks. I personally don’t see them all at once very often, but I wonder if this is a common occurrence.

The group of panda-patterned Smews is well worth seeing. I would have liked to observe them closer.
