アメリカのゴイサギ / Black-crowned Night Heron

A Black-crowned Night Heron was spotted near a local waterfront. These herons are distributed worldwide and are known as Black-crowned Night Heron both in the U.S. and Japan. Other species such as Dunlin, Whimbrel, and Osprey are also distributed as the same species in both regions. Comparing photos of the herons in Japan and the U.S., the American ones seem to have a broader white area on their foreheads.
