河口湖、山中湖、精進湖 / Lake Kawaguchi, Yamanaka, Shoji

I went to see the area around the Fuji Five Lakes in autumn. My main goal was to walk in the Aokigahara Sea of Trees, and of course I wanted to photograph Mt. Fuji, but the weather was not cooperating. So my plan to photograph the starlit sky had to be put on hold.

Since I do not own a car in the Kanto region, I took an express bus and rented a car there. It was a certain nationwide car rental company located in front of Kawaguchiko Station.

As a side note, the reviews on Google Maps are outrageous, with a lot of 1 stars. Looking at the contents, almost all of them seemed to be from overseas travelers. While I won’t go into detail, it seems that customer satisfaction is declining due to foreign language communication problems. As expected, I felt no particular dissatisfaction when speaking in Japanese, and the car was quite fine. Nowadays, every place is full of foreign tourists, so I think it is hard for those who are doing business with the old-fashioned sense of the word.

On this day, I planned to see Mt. Fuji while touring around the lakeside. However, it was almost impossible to see it because it was hidden by clouds.

In the light rain, I did the usual sightseeing and stayed overnight by Lake Yamanaka. I wanted to take pictures of Mt. Fuji and the starry sky, but…

I would like to leave the Aokigahara walk for another post. After all, I did not see the whole body of the mountain. Too bad.
