多摩川 / Tama River

Currently exploring bird watching points along the Tama River. I would like to extend my visit to the upper reaches and near the mouth of the river.

First of all, I was able to see various resident birds, including ospreys for the first time in a while. I am looking forward to seeing how they will look like in the fall and winter.

It is indeed large when viewed in this way.

A Little Egret. It was kind of beautiful to see the connection between the legs flying away and the water of the river.

A young Japanese Wagtail soaking wet, perhaps from a heavy bathing.

It doesn’t seem to dry out very well.
