バンの続き / Continuation of Common Moorhen
In the rain, I revisited the moorhen’s pond the other day.
The chicks have grown considerably.
A chick climbing over grass. The chick’s legs are extremely large compared to its body. This is how big they need to be in order to walk around on bad footholds such as floating grass.
It came quite close. It is a pity that I can only take pictures from this angle because of the height of the pond.
They started mating at once. I do not know if the pair is already raising their young, but it seems that they are still laying eggs.
It came very close. So I turned my lens to where It was going…
There was a nest and eggs directly below. I decided to leave the area without further observation, as I was too close to the nest, considering the abandonment of the nest the other day.
