ヒガンバナ / Red Spider Lily

On the way off the highway, I came across a place where Red Spider Lily (彼岸花:ヒガンバナ) was in full bloom. Since I had been taking pictures of nothing but birds recently, I wanted to take pictures of something different once in a while.

Originally from China, the Red Spider Lily that grows wild in Japan is said to be unable to increase by seeds (although there are divided bulbs). Autumnal poems are basically landscapes that are created through human intervention.

It’s in the neighborhood of a village, so there are lots of Red Spider Lily. If we can’t remove them, let’s put in telephone poles and power lines.
